"Pooper Stoopers" is a great term for these ancient conveniences. Back in 1987, my mother and I took a tour in Guilin, and having insisted on trying some cold vegetables I came down with a severe case of stomach problems which require constant use of these pooper stoopers. Back in 1987, modern bathrooms don't quite exist in the countryside of China, so I ended up using one of these at a hospital where the bathroom was outdoor with rats running around in the dark while my mother shined a flashlight for me to see! Ok, enough of that subject. Viewing your photos surprisingly do not bring back old memories of Hong Kong for me. Hong Kong has grown and changed so much that my childhood are nothing but a distant fading memory. I loved the Hong Kong of the 60's, but time has eroded of which I remembered and loved.
Hello readers! I would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone and everyone interested in reading my blog. I've made this blog for one specific reason--my studying abroad in Hong Kong at the University of Hong Kong during Fall semester 2009. If you would like to share my experience with me, be sure to subscribe to this blog. I'll try my hardest to update at least once a week.
